What does the first day of spring mean to you? In my
In my family it meant the start of spring cleaning. If your family has that same tradition, don’t forget about your garage.
I grew up in Florida, but my family came here from Ohio. In Ohio, we had basements and attics, neither of which are popular in Florida houses.
What do you do to when you don’t have all that storage space?
Most people in Florida use their garage, but boxes all over the garage make it hard to park the car out of the elements or to use it for hobbies. A little effort to organize the garage can yield big benefits. You have a variety of options for organizing:
1) Garage Storage Lofts. I personally think these are one of the great inventions for Florida residents. Storage lofts attach to the ceiling of the garage above the garage door tracks. They allow homeowners to use the otherwise wasted space. Several people have asked for suggestions on how to organize the lofts. My sister stores her holiday decorations in her storage lofts. When they pack up the Christmas decorations, they move the valentine’s decorations to the front and push the Christmas decorations to the back. This simple move that takes only a minute or two save the daunting task of digging out the next set of decorations. At Action, we install Hyloft storage lofts, which come in three basic sizes and can be combined to fit almost any size space.
2) Wall Shelving Systems. If lifting boxes up into overhead lofts won’t work for you, what about installing wall shelving systems? Many of these include adjustable shelves, so that you can store all sizes of items. The one we sell can also be combined with hang rails to provide a safe, versatile storage system.
